Notification for the first phase of the six-phased Bihar state Assembly elections issued on Monday. Bihar Governor Devanand Konwar issued the notification for the 47 out of 243 Assembly constituencies today. First-phase of polling will be held on October 21.The six-phase of Bihar election will take place on October 21 (47 assembly constituencies), October 24 (45 constituencies), October 28 (48 constituencies), November 1 (42 constituencies), November 9 (35 constituencies) and November 20 (26 constituencies) and the result will be decleared on November 24.
Additional Chief Electoral Officer Anshumali said that the notification has been issued for holding the first-phase on October 21. October 4 would be the last date for filing nominations and scrutiny would be held on October 5. The last date of withdrawal would be October 7.
About 5.5 crore voters will exercise their franchise through in the Bihar assembly poll through electronic voting machines (EVMs).
