JULY 4TH 2010, Macy's Annual Fireworks event in New York during Independence Day celebration of United States, which is considered as the world second biggest fireworks event, started approximately at 9:20 p.m. Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks lit up the skies above the Hudson River, snubbing the East River which had been the most frequent location for decades.
The Macy's, 34th annual show stopping display fireworks show on 4th July 2010, featured more than 40,000 shells exploding in a 26-minute jaw-dropping spectacle. Macy’s Fireworks was fired from six barges on the Hudson River positioned between 24th and 50th Streets. This year's theme for 4 of July fireworks was American Harmony taking spectators through the history of American music.
For the best live view of the Macy's Annual Fireworks event in New York during Independence Day celebration, spectators were encouraged to stake a spot starting at approximately 4 p.m. along the West Side Highway from 24th Street, 26th through 30th Streets, 34th Street, 40th through 44th Streets, 47th Street, 49th through 52nd Streets, 54th Street, 56th through 57th Streets.
